Pine Cay

Located in the string of cays between Providenciales and North Caicos, Pine Cay is an 800 acre privately owned island. It was the site of the first tourist development in the charming archipelago that is the Turks and Caicos Islands and is home to Pine Cay and a small number of private homes. With the exception of a settlement of Taino Indians that likely date back to the 11th Century, Pine Cay had no permanent population until Pine Cay was built in the early 1970s.

Named after a small forest of endemic and endangered Caicos Pines (Pinus caribaea var. bahamensis), a subspecies of the Caribbean Pine, the island is less than a mile wide and only two miles long. Despite its small size, the island has over 9 miles of trails to explore, and a breathtaking 2 mile stretch of white sand beach. The ideal place for beach walking, the island is connected to its neighbors, Water Cay and Little Water Cay meaning that it is even possible to walk the beach for 5 miles to the end of Little Water Cay.

The Premium Beachfront Junior Suites  look out onto Pine Cay’s pristine and secluded two- mile beach, and are set among the same beautiful sand dunes, sea oats, and sea grapes. Combining island charm and a classic Caribbean sensibility, these 800sq ft Junior Suites come with plenty of treats: a thatched beach tiki with sun loungers and beach towels, for example. There’s also a private porch with front-row seats by the sea. Colored with soft, sandy neutrals, splashes of sea-blue and bleached-white accents, these relaxed rooms have ceiling fans, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi. Interiors feature woodwork crafted from eponymous pine trees; driftwood accessories have been whisked from beach to bedroom.

The Luxury Beachfront Cottages are nestled amongst lush tropical gardens with shady palms and offer the ultimate in seclusion. Set apart from the Premium Beachfront Junior Suites and offering even more peace and privacy, the two Luxury Beachfront Cottages put a 900sq ft expanse at your disposal. Graced with high ceilings and inviting interiors that reference the island’s teal- and-gold palette, each Luxury Beachfront Cottages also has its own view-toting terrace and outdoor seating area with direct beach access.
