...At Sloane is a new, and truly unique hotel in London’s Chelsea that combines discreet British charm with timeless luxury and Parisian flair to offer guests an experience akin to staying in an art collector’s chic townhouse. With 30 rooms and suites, a top floor restaurant, and a lower-ground bar, this collaboration between revered designer Francois-Joseph Graf and the 300-year-old Cadogan Estate involved a six-year extensive renovation of the 19th Century mansion building, which was originally designed by architect Edwin Thomas Hall, who also designed Liberty. The result is a space that evokes an elegant sense of place in the neighbourhood, combined with an appreciation of design, for complete aesthetic pleasure.

Throughout the hotel, inspiration is captured from Chelsea’s longstanding relationship with the Arts and Crafts movement. Dozens of highly skilled artisans collaborated for a vision that respects history, appreciates beauty, and holds the architecture of a space in the highest regard. There are 50 custom made French fabrics, no fewer than 21 carpet designs, 19 curtain designs, antique and reproduction 1800s moody Benson light fittings, and hand-painted trompe l’oeil and Néo-Grec friezes.

The entrance with its historic façade is discreet and welcomes guests into a vestibule where the hotel’s seductive scent sets the overall sense of contemporary cool. A long table dressed with carefully selected books and stylized board games, serves as a floating check-in desk in a room that captures the attention with its hand-painted English stormy sky ceiling, marble frontons, and Greek vases depicting cheeky scenes.
