DISCOVER THE CITY: Almanac Barcelona is steps from Plaça de Catalunya, considered to be both its city center and the place where the old city and the 19th century-built Eixample meet. Visitors can start strolling through the city at the top of the Ramblas along to the bustling Boquería market past the Gran Teatre del Liceu. In the Raval, the sleek contemporary MACBA houses the city's most important collection of modern art. One of the most fashionable neighborhoods in the city is El Born where visitors can discover the Picasso and Textile Museums as well as independent designer boutiques. Discover the many faces of Barcelona’s neighborhoods and the hidden treasures within each.

MAGIC OF MONTJUIC Montjuïc is the perfect place for a leafy stroll with spectacular views and is Barcelona’s largest recreation area. Aside from the natural surroundings you’ll find buildings from the 1992 Olympic Games, including the Palau Sant Jordi and the telecommunications tower designed by famed architect Santiago Calatrava. Visit the Foundació Joan Miró then head to the Plaça Espanya, at the foot of Montjuïc, and where you can visit the Pavelló Mies van der Rohe and theCaixaForum cultural centre.

ART + ARCHITECTURE Barcelona boasts a rich cultural heritage. Visitors can find one-hundred-year-old theatres dedicated to opera and music such as theGran Teatre del Liceu and the singular Modernista Palau de la Música Catalana. Passionate about architecture, Gaudí's masterwork La Sagrada Família remains a work in progress. On a smaller but equally interesting is La Pedrera, but the modernisme king's unique style can be seen in wonders dotted around the city: Casa Batlló, is a stone’s throw from the hotel or further afield one can wander the paths ofPark Güell where you can see the influence of Gaudí's three greatest passions – architecture, nature and religion. Each of his characteristic mediums – wood, wrought iron, ceramics and stained glass – are seamlessly intertwined to tell a story of life, death and the faith in between.
