Sustainability with Habitas

Sustainable travel means finding a way that tourism can be maintained long-term without harming natural and cultural environments, and what better way to bring attention to doing just that, than doing a feature on Earth Day on one of our newest additions, Habitas, who seek to minimize negative impacts on the environment and aim to have a positive impact for local communities and economies. Habitas is a global hospitality group created by a diverse community of people seeking human connection, authentic experiences and a better future together. With the belief that inspired individuals connecting through strong communities will change the world and make it a better place. In doing so, they will help others and help protect the environment and ensure a better future for generations to come.

Sustainable Ethos

With discovery of rare places of natural beauty comes great responsibility. The purpose is to protect our home, the earth, through immersive spaces that deepen our awareness. Habitas seek to educate and inspire, while holding transparency in high regard. Habitas are committed to fulfilling the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals for 2030.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT At Habitas, the construction methodology minimizes environmental impact. Their modular construction allows us to build in an efficient way without compromising design integrity and guest experience.

They are committed to eliminating single-use plastic throughout all of the homes and have been awarded the Oceanic Champion Badge for adopting The Oceanic Standard.

They've partnered with Cooperativo Ambio’s Scolel’te Program, supporting reforestation with proceeds from the concerts and screenings. This initiative offsets carbon emissions from their operations.

Waste classification is the most important step directed to better waste management. They work with local organizations to manage excess waste as a result of daily operations by recycling and composting.
